    • 150 g (5½ oz) flour
    • 40 g (1½ oz) butter
    • 40 g (1½ oz) lard or white vegetable fat
    • 1 egg yolk
    • 2-3 tablespoons cold water
    • 12 tablespoons SPLENDA® jam
    • 1 tablespoon SPLENDA® Granulated

    Preheat the oven to 190°C / 170°C Fan / Gas Mark 5.


    Sift the flour into a large bowl.


    Cut the butter and white fat into small pieces, add to the flour and rub in using your fingertips.


    Stir in the Splenda and the egg yolk.


    Add 2-3 tablespoons cold water to bring the dough together.


    Knead lightly until smooth.


    Roll out the pastry to 5 mm (¼ in) thick and using a 7 cm / 3 in cutter cut 18 rounds, re-rolling the pastry when necessary.


    Place the rounds into bun tins that accommodate 18 tarts, and bake for 15-20 minutes until crisp.


    Leave to cool and then spoon 2 teaspoon jam into each one before serving.

    Total time is not excluding jam making.
